Cybersecurity firm Wiz has revealed that the intense global competition among artificial intelligence (AI) companies is causing many to overlook fundamental security hygiene practices.

According to Wiz's analysis of 50 leading AI firms, a staggering 65 percent were found to have leaked verified secrets on GitHub. These exposures include:

  • API keys (Application Programming Interface)
  • Access tokens
  • Other sensitive credentials

These secrets are often deeply embedded in code repositories that conventional security tools fail to detect, highlighting significant vulnerabilities in the rapidly evolving AI sector's cybersecurity strategies.
