Klarna, the Swedish fintech firm, has announced its support for Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), an open standard designed to unify how artificial intelligence (AI) agents discover products and execute transactions. This initiative also includes backing Google's Agent Payments Protocol (AP2).

The move aims to address the current lack of interoperability between conversational AI agents and backend payment systems. By engaging with these standards, Klarna seeks to facilitate more seamless and integrated transactions within the evolving AI-powered commerce ecosystem, positioning itself as a key contributor to digital payment innovation.
