According to Databricks, enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption is undergoing a significant shift towards agentic systems. This transition occurs as organizations increasingly embrace intelligent workflows.

The initial wave of generative AI, despite promising business transformation, often delivered little more than isolated chatbots and stalled pilot programs. This left technology leaders managing high expectations with limited operational utility.

However, new telemetry from Databricks suggests the market is now moving beyond that early phase. The focus is shifting towards more advanced, autonomous AI implementations, known as agentic systems, which are capable of performing complex tasks and making decisions more independently.
